With the thousands of solar panel layouts and designs I have done, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that solar pool heating is about pool lifestyle. I was getting a bit bored with the stale old solar panel renderings that I crank out on a daily basis, and decided to explore the idea again of adding pool screened enclosures to my solar panel 3D roof renderings. I downloaded a plugin that would help speed the job, and I was reminded, entirely by accident, of what we are really selling — the enjoyment of outdoor living through warm pools.

As I started processing the screened enclosure images I noticed that something was missing. Where was the pool? How about some furniture? And what about the people enjoying the pool?! Because the software I use has an extensive library of these 3D models available from the user community, I started placing objects on the pool deck, and what I saw jarred me back into reality. We’re not selling black panels on the roof. We’re selling the dream — the dream of actually using that expensive pond in the back yard!

I really enjoy 3D computer modeling as a hobby, and I thought this quick rendering I did in a spare 30 minutes came out pretty good, so I thought I’d share. I hope you like it!
