Note that the section on valves will be most relevant to installations performed after March 2018 when we started pre-manufacturing our valve manifolds. However, our installations prior to this date have all of the same components – they might just look a little different.

I see pretty much everywhere I search online that the cool pool water flows from the bottom of the solar panel (Fafco brand, for example) and is heated up as it is pushed out the top and flows back to the pool. Does the particular direction of water flow matter?
Yes, this is the only way you will get even flow through the panels. The lower header fills up, then rises to the top header and returns to the pool.
