Off-Grid System Components

The major components of a typical off-grid solar energy system are:

  • Solar Panels and Charge Control
  • Battery Storage
  • Inverter Power and Distribution
  • Backup Generator

In addition to these components you need mounting systems, battery enclosures, structures to house equipment, wiring, distribution equipment, safety equipment and disconnects, user interfaces, monitoring devices, remote controls, and other “balance of system” equipment.
